We are HGV
HGV Hamburger Gesellschaft für Vermögens- und Beteiligungsmanagement mbH is the group holding company of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. We consolidate a large portion of Hamburg's public companies and other investments. Our portfolio includes various cultural and administrative buildings, as well as most of the properties used by the Hamburg police and fire departments.

Public transport
For millions of people, public transport ensures their daily participation in social life in Hamburg – whether it's on their way to work, school, or leisure activities. With our investments in Hamburger Hochbahn AG, Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein GmbH, and P+R Betriebsgesellschaft, we are driving public transport forward.
Transportation & Logistics
From the container terminals at the Port of Hamburg to the ships of Hapag-Lloyd. Or from Hamburg Airport high up in the skies – we bring people and goods safely to their destinations. With our investments, we are strengthening Hamburg's position as a leading trade and logistics hub in Northern Europe.
Supply & disposal
Supply and disposal services are the invisible but vital foundation for the health and quality of life in our city. Through our investments, we reliably supply Hamburg households with water, electricity, district heating, and gas, as well as high-speed fiber-optic internet. We also ensure that traffic systems such as traffic lights and street lighting function properly.
Real estate & urban development
Real estate is the building block for social and future-oriented urban development. With our investments in social housing and neighborhood development, we create livable space for Hamburg's citizens, modern educational facilities for all generations, and attractive office space for businesses. In addition to various cultural and administrative buildings, we also manage the police and fire department properties in Hamburg.
